Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor dysfunctions is a sensitive topic for many, but it is more common than one may think!!!
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy involving internal and external assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. Those muscles are located between the hip bones and the sacrum, and they serve as a bowl to support the pelvic organs including the bladder, colon and uterus.
Massage Therapy
In massage therapy, a trained, certified medical professional (massage therapist) manipulates the soft tissues of your body — muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin. The massage therapist uses varying degrees of pressure and movement.
Studies of massage benefits have found massage can:
Help reduce stress
Lessen pain and muscle tension
Increase relaxation
Improve immune function
TCM Acupuncture and Dry Needling
Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.
Dry needling is focused on using strong stimulation on the muscles to get them to release.
Vestibular/Concussion
After a concussion, individuals may experience vestibular dysfunction, a disturbance in the balance system of the body. This can often lead to symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, or imbalance, just to name a few. Vestibular rehabilitation is a type of therapy that focuses on improving the relationship between the inner ear, brain, eyes, muscles and nerves. This therapy is typically used with post-concussion patients.
Reflexology
Reflexology is the study and practice of automatic body responses to finger pressure applied on specific areas of the feet/hands that correspond to all parts of the body, top help the body attain/maintain its ideal balance.
Reflexology is non-invasive, complimentary, natural, preventative, and is especially effective to induce relaxation and improve circulation to all organs of the body.
